Sean O’Rourke solo exhibition at The Shaw

Sean O’Rourke solo exhibition at The Shaw

Closing; Thursday October 25th // Free in

Sean O’Rourke will be having a solo photography exhibition in the Bernard Shaw. The majority of the photographs being exhibited are of Charlemont street flats before they were demolished. The photographs shows the rough aesthetic that Sean pursues in his work, many of them used as reference photographs to form his visual and conceptual ideas. The work looks at how our external environment plays a part in influencing our personality, as well as serving as a form of documentation, documenting the rough elements that characterises Dublin’s inner city.

Sean O’Rourke is an NCAD graduate, graduating in 2016 with a BA Hons in fine art painting. In the same year Sean was awarded the NUI Art & Design Prize for his degree show work entitled ‘Crucifixion’, the piece was a triptych commemorating the demolition of Dolphin House flat complex. Sean’s work is influenced by his surroundings, using the rough aesthetics of Dublin’s inner city to make art, looking at how our external environment can form our personality.
