Graff Jam, Djs, Spoken Word and more at International Women’s Weekender

We’re pulling out all the stops in celebration of International Women’s Day at The Bernard Shaw this year.

On International Women’s Day itself on March 8th at 6pm we’ll have the opening night of an exhibition featuring works by over 8 local female artists in various media from photography and line drawing to painting and illustrations. We’ll also host a Spoken Word event at 8pm that evening featuring local poets and performers including Sarah Devereux, Caoimhe Lavelle, Hazel Hogan, Clara Rose Thornton and more tba.

On Friday March 10th Bernard Shaw regular, Cait Fahy of DIP Collective, will lead the charge on the decks for the night.

We’ll have an all-female Graff Jam rom 12pm – 6pm on Saturday March 11th with some of the regular graffiti artists who grace our walls with their amazing works and we’re encouraging any young girls or any women at all who are interested in getting involved to come down with their cans, chat to some of the experienced artists and get stuck in.

Later that evening we’ll round off the weekender with a guest set by Venus Dupree of GIRL Collective (Belfast) who recently graced the halls of Shine Belfast and AVA Festival with their special brand of Disco-via-Arthur Russell.
